About the Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Dartmouth College's VPN is available for users in the Dartmouth.edu name directory. The Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure connection between your computer and the Dartmouth network, and provides users with IP addresses in the appropriate range. Please refer to Computing's Juniper VPN documentation for more information about the service. Additional information about connecting to the network from off-campus is available on the Dartmouth Computing website.

About Secure Access

DHMC's Secure Access software is available for users in the Hitchcock.org name directory.  If you are located at another university, in a hospital, clinic, or private company, your institution may have made computer network configuration choices, including firewalls, that limit your access to information resources provided by the Dartmouth College Library. If you are unable to access library resources using the Secure Access software talk to your local technical support personnel.  For more information please refer to the Secure Access documentation.

Alternate Access to Specific Resources

Some Library resources can be accessed through Shibboleth/InCommon, a federated single-sign-on system that allows users to authenticate with their Dartmouth credentials to the resource providers without needing to use the VPN: Resource-specific login information
